Day 5 was spent in Madaba, sleeping in and just wandering the streets picked up some handmade glass blown Christmas ornaments and going back to Yousef's shop to pick up some other souvenirs. He encouraged us to go to the Apostles Church, and from there you could see his families' house...We started to, but it was too far so we didn't go...oops. But it was fun wandering the city during the day. Not much to write home about though. Finally it was time to go to the airport to go back to Egypt.
Overall Jordan was an amazing experience. I would go back to Petra because there was so much more to see that we didn't get a chance to see all of. I would also love to go more further south the Aquaba, where it apparently has some beautiful beaches and to the Wadi Rum, where I saw a picture of it and instantly fell in love with, gorgeous sand dunes and a chance to go camping under the stars.
As mentioned before Jordan was interesting, it was the first country that I've been to where the local currency was worth more then the American dollar. I think $1.40 USD was worth $1 JD (Jordanian Dollar), Thailand was $1 USD was worth 30 Baht, and in Egypt it's about $1USD is worth about $5 LE (Egyptian Pounds).
