Day One in Jordan.

I'm currently in Jordan right now because thank goodness Ramadan is over. After Ramadan is over there's a celebration called Eid. So at Heritage School we get a week off. So the first adventure outside of Egypt is in Jordan. There's about 11 Heritage teachers that are going to be in Jordan sometime this Eid break. I'm traveling with 4 other girls.

Arrived in Amman, a little past midnight and getting off the plane was a lot different compared to getting off the plane in Egypt. The major difference was that instead of getting a blast of hot air in Egypt, I was greeted with cool air. First thought was "Crap, I only packed one pair of capris and one pair of longish shorts and one hoodie." Second thought was "I LOVE JORDAN!" As I'm writing this I'm wishing I had packed a pair of jeans Phoning Home

. Oh well.

So today's adventure so far started off with no running water in our bathroom toilet. After we figured that out and ate we headed off to check out some ruins. The first thing we saw was the Amman Citadel, Byzantine Church, Hercules Temple and the Archaeological Museum. Pretty interesting sites and lots of wondering of how in the world these ancient civilizations are able to build such high pillars and still have remains still standing today some 2000 years later. We  later meandered down to where we got to see a Roman Theatre, and some other small museums as well. Grabbed some lunch which included Kabob, where the meat is on a rotisserie and the meat is shaved off and placed in a crepe. Also had some sort of cheese pastry and hummus...yum I love hummus

Other sites that we'll be checking out is in Petra, where I think everything is carved into the mountain, and the next place is the Dead Sea where any open cuts will hurt badly. So I'll update you when I get to see it.

That's all for now!
