I did not have a good start to this journey. Last minute tasks included heaving a heavy bag of garbage into a dumpster - I heard the arm go 'crrunch' and am now with arm in sling, waiting for a long haul plane out of here.

Crunched Arm?
Wow sorry to hear of the arm crunch situation? Hope you survived the trip? It was Business???? You at least got upgraded???

So why are you travelling Aus to UK via New Zealand?? Is there something you need to tell me about direct Sydney London flights???

Re: Crunched Arm?
Yes - did survive the trip. Not much harm you can do to an arm sitting in an airline seat for 30 hours. By the time I arrived I didn't feel I needed the sling any more.

No upgrade, I'm afraid and in Hong Kong they didn't allow me to take the trolley through security - but very kindly carried all my stuff (laptop and clear plastic bag with bottles) they also took away my deodorant which had more than 100ml of liquid, which I had successfully got through security in Sydney and Auckland. Why flying via Auckland, I asked myself that too - it was a special deal for going the wrong way I guess. Most New Zealanders fly to the UK via US.

Speak soon. Cheers, Eva
