Percy is back!! After 5,500 miles of driving, two VIP guests from America and 10 Chinese cities I am finally getting back into the groove of things.

This week I started back teaching and it was nice to see all my students. I received my new schedule and it is great!! M, W, T, F I have two classes in the afternoon and Tuesday I have one class in the morning. A total of 9 one hour and forty-five minute classes a week. Not bad!!

Quick Update:

Two weeks ago when Gus was still here I had a football match and my team was short of players and Gus was allowed to play. It was sweet. We both played in the middle and we played like we had grown up together! Odd. Gus had two goals and I had two assists. This is my team website Go check out the game report. Unfortunately, two days ago I was playing a bit of footy (soccer) with my students and I injured my ankle… pretty severely. It was my own doing though, I was dribbling and I cut to the right and I rolled my plant foot (right foot). It is on the outside of my ankle and I think I either ripped or stretched a tendon/ligament (I never know which is which). Pat was in the vicinity and we both heard a very loud pop. I immediately remembered every swear word in the world and cycled through the list about thirty times. I knew it was serious and that I would be out of football for weeks if not a month.  Yesterday, my team had a match and of course I was out. Very very discouraging! I added a picture of my ankle.

So, about my adventures with my mom and friends.

My mom first arrived in Chongqing and we chilled out a few days while she got over her jetlag. My Chinese friend (very wealthy) took my mom out for a incredible meal, Karaoke, then a Chinese club one night. She got to see how the rich roll in China. I think she had fun, but it was all very overwhelming. The next day my Chinese friend took us to a hot springs resort. They had about twenty different pools, with different temperatures and different styles. For example one had fish that would eat your dead skin. It was the weirdest thing in the world. They had a red wine pool and flower pool. It was a lot of fun. My mom got an amazing Thai style massage. Good Times!

After Chongqing Alex, Isabelle, my mother and I set off for Yunnan. We first drove to Kunming and stayed a night there. When we arrived in Kunming and were bringing our bags into the hotel, Alex realized his bag wasn't there. It was bizarre. The next day he called Pat back in Chongqing to check his flat, but it wasn’t there either. We still haven’t solved the mystery.

Lijiang was great. We stayed six nights and caught up on R&R. During our stay we checked out a local bar, went horseback riding, had long walks around the old city, drank loads of tea and slept. I got sick during our stay, but I was lucky to have mom there. It was the worst flu I have had in 5 years. I was in bed for 48 hours!

Check out all the pictures.
