Actually, I am very pleased with the way this leg of the trip has turned out! Joe and I left Marmaris in the morning and got a bus to a town called Aydin. The bus ride was so nice--the bus was clean and like Portugal, there was a steward dressed in a bow-tie who served us snacks and, my favorite, NesCafe. From Aydin, we hopped onto a minibus and rode an hour to Kusadasi.
Kusadasi is another tourist town on the Turkish coastline. Many Americans, Irish and English go there for short holidays, or own summer homes. In Kusadasi, there is a little bazaar area, restaurants, and a ton of bars on Bar Street--all closed. Joe and I walked around and saw a little bar that had "Cead Mile Failte" (Irish for "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes", over the tour, and a Turkish guy our age came outside
Later, we went back to the hotel to chill out, and the next day, we were so lucky to have great weather! Sunny, but chilly. So long as it wasn't raining, I was happy! We walked around a did some shopping at the little tourist shops. We even came across a goat tied up. Later that night, I had a nice massage downstairs, but Joe had to miss out because he couldn't have a woman therapist, so he went upstairs to sulk.
Today, we left Kusadasi on the bus and headed up to Izmir to have a day before our early morning flight out.
