We awoke to a scorching apartment as the temperature hasn't let up here, still hanging in the high 20’s and low 30’s so we opened all of the windows and got some are moving in here to cool things down. Good thing we bought a fan the day we arrived as I noticed this evening that they are all sold out of the type we bought and had very few of any other types left.
As I mentioned yesterday we had attempted to see the Eiffel Tower but the line up was crazy so we headed back there again this morning to give it another go, and...... it was longer than last night, oh well, we decided that it would be crazy to leave Paris without going on the Eiffel Tower, so we stood in line......for an hour, before we got to the ticket booth. Then, it was another 20 minutes to get through security, French Commando’s  every  where  (this is normal), then another 10 minutes to get to the second floor. It was probably another 10-15 minutes to take the last elevator to the top.
Well, when you get to the top and step out, all that waiting was worth it, you would be crazy not to have gone up the Eiffel tower while visiting Paris as the view is fantastic and you really get some stunning views of Paris. Going down didn’t quite take as long, probably another 30 minutes total, Pat bought a quick lunch on the second level and it equals to eating at Harrod’s in London, but never the less, it tasted mighty good after all of that waiting today.
By the time we got to the bottom it was time to head over to the Musée du Louvre and meet our friend Shelley at the Pyramid. We stopped for a quick lunch and had a great pizza and beer of course and then decided to head to the Arc de Triomphe for a view.  We had a look around and took a few photo’s and decided to wander down the des Champs-Elyées Avenue and go do something  totally decadent since we probably won`t  be returning and that was to have a drink on the avenue so we stopped at Le Fouquets and it was a lot of fun, ranks right up there with Harrod`s in London, and Harry`s Bar in Venice. A nice way to end another day`s adventure in Paris, more stories later.
