nihao everyone! let me tell you about our trip to china... most people would expect us to take the two hour flight or so to beijing in time for the olympics, but that would be too easy... not like us at all... nope, we took a ferry. yes, we took a boat from incheon, south korea to qingdao, shandong, china. home of no. 1, no.6 and no. 4 beaches. funny names, i know.

first off, let's talk about the boat. ferry lobby

it was bigger than a socal to catalina type of ferry, yet smaller than a norwegian cruiseline ship. the boat ride took approximately 17 hours incheon bay

and it was overnight; which means we pretty much slept through much of it. the ship itself was not bad at all... the ferry had a karaoke bar, a restaurant, a small theater, sauna and coffee shop... even our room was nice incheon bay

so all in all, it was a doable trip. BUT, there's more to this story. we were hanging out on the deck outside just enjoying the fresh ocean breeze when a korean man decided to dispose of his lit cigarette ashes into the wind in front of eunice. well, the ashes got into eunice's shirt and burned holes into her jacket and shirt holy jacket

... it sucks.. i got upset, and he compensated us with 30,000 won ... that's about $30 US. so we took it and had a free meal... but now we have to sew up the shirt.

more info on qingdao to come in the next entry.
