I'm not actually sure what there is to do at a modern World's Fair. I went to the Expo website, but it didn't really provide much of actual details. I think there are soccer playing robots and a giant digital screen ceiling, but that's about all I got out of it.
Although the Expo is in Yeosu, I'm staying in a hotel in Jeonju, about an hour and a half from the Expo by train. I saved well over one hundred dollars that way, and all I have to do is get up a little earlier in the morning. I should be able to make up some of that time by eating breakfast on the train.
My hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the train station. I thought I'd have the receptionist call a taxi in the morning to save time, but she wasn't at all friendly. I brought an electronic copy of my hotel voucher, which the voucher clearly said was acceptable, but she was really irritated I didn't have a paper copy. Sorry I didn't bring my printer with me to Korea. I suspect if she spoke English, I would have gotten quite the talking to. So anyway, I'll walk to the station in the morning or flag down a taxi on my way if I see one.
The room itself was standard Korean motel room, but it definitely had a "romantic" theme, with hearts and love written in several locations. It was basically the same as the other rooms I've stayed in. I guess I have to admit now the line between love hotels and regular mid-range motels in Korea is pretty non-existent.
I didn't explore Jeonju at all, because I want to get to bed early so I'll be bright and ready for the Expo in the morning.
