Sorry to post two entries in such quick succession but we have today booked our PADI Open Water Diver Certificate course - and we start tomorrow!
We are undertaking the course in the name of the Miriam Hyman Memorial Fund; to sponsor us follow the links to our ORBIS sponsorship page on the home page of www.miriam-hyman.com - thank you :)
The company we are doing the course with is called Sea Bees - here is a link to their website:
www.sea-bees.com
They came recommended to us by several people we talked to and they have won awards for the best diving school in East Asia several times. We feel confident that their teaching, equipment and general organisation are of the best available standard, which is very reassuring.
We are paying slightly more than we had expected for the course - 200 pounds each, but we feel that it is worth the extra for the peace of mind we have knowing that it is such a reputable company.
The course is four days long and consists of two days' theory and pool work followed by two days open water diving, two dives each day. There are lots of inclusives, for example the cost of boat trips, two meals per day, all equipment - everything we need.
We're really excited about doing the course and the prospect of diving in the beautiful sea in this area, and later in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
We'll be taking photos to show our progress as much as possible and I will post a report after the four days.
Sea you soon! ;)
