With just under three weeks to go our arrangements are coming together really well. We have all the basics sorted like immunisations and visas and the details are coming together too. I don't know how people managed to plan this kind of trip before the days of the Internet!

I want to mention here the Women of the Year awards. See their website www.womanoftheyear.co.uk. I am overwhelmed to have been named as a Woman of the Year for my positive response to the events of 7/7. But in no way can I accept sole credit for the fund-raising efforts of all Mim's friends and family who have joined forces from the outset to raise a phenomenal amount for the MHMF. AD and I hope to boost the Miriam Hyman Memorial Fund whilst making the most of a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The award lunch is on Monday 16th October, just two days before we leave.

Lots to plan for! I hope to write more before we leave on 18th October.

glad it's all coming together...
Esther, the nearer you get to your trip the nearer I get to mine, so am glad to hear you're only 3 weeks off departure :-)
Hopefully catch up with you guys for a drink before you leave... if not leave money behind the bar for a drink for me in Sydney and I'll pick it up next year when I finish my overland trek over there...! Rebecca
