Reminisce Ireland

(Erica) We are in transit today - traveling from Killarney, Ireland to San Francisco or Phoenix. Either way - we are looking at 15-18 hours total travel time (including our 3 hour layover in Newark). Awww...the joys of traveling home after an extended a vacation. Sigh...
We started our day with an uneventful ride from Killarney to Shannon - only one u-turn! Shocking! Maybe that was the secret...driving on 4 hours sleep with only 1 cup of coffee. We figure out the right mix after a week in Ireland - ha! I digress.
We land in Newark and miss the turn to our luggage so add one more u-turn to the day's tally. We re-check our luggage and grab a few drinks to kill the time before catching the next leg of our flights. We laugh over the funny sayings we heard in Ireland and recap memories and highlights of the trip...what an incredible way to wrap up this trip.
In summary, this trip was a once in a lifetime, exceptionally memorable trip for me. I still am awe struck that we finally made it to Ireland after a lifetime of hopes and dreams of making it to Ireland and meeting our distant relatives. And to top this - we traveled well together (sometimes a pleasant/unpleasant surprise when traveling). This trip will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for reading our blog and thank you Mom and Tom for making this happen. I love you guys. :)
