The 3 Stooges with Tired Irish Eyes

(Erica) I land in Shannon, grab my luggage and meet my mom and Tom in the airport lobby...awhhh - we made it! Everyone arrived safely, on time and with their luggage - it's a beautiful day!
We hop in the rental car and Tom cautiously adjusts his seat and mirrors before taking off...on the left side of the street! For the 2 hour drive from the airport to Killarney (where our cottage is located) my mom and I here "where do I do now", "help me read the signs", "am I going the right way", "how do I make a U turn", "can I pass this person" - aiy! After a minor detour (I was having difficulty navigating Tom's GPS and my mom loosing patience FAST) we arrive at the cottage. Good thing because I'm guessing everyone's patience were beginning to run thin. Anyhow, this place is great - it has 3 bedrooms plus a loft with 3 full baths and easily sleeps 8. We unpack and map our way into Killarney for lunch. We stop at Laurels' for pub food before browsing through the stores on High street.
Although shopping fuels most woman - that wasn't the case today. We were like the walking dead - checking the time after what seemed like hours just to learn 15 or 20 minutes passed...clearly the time change and lack of sleep on the plane is catching up with all three of us. Matter of fact - as I'm posting this...Tom and my mom are knocked out! Imagine these sounds...type...type...snooooore...type...type...snooooooore. Ha! As I was saying... We drive around Killarney village to get used to driving the round abouts from the left, to get our bearings and to stay awake as long as possible. I included a few pictures from our day - enjoy. Awww...the kids just woke up and want some wine. Sigh...I guess I better wrap this up. Hey Dave, I bought a Feotto Nero d' Avola from Sicilia and a 2004 Reserve Benoit Chateauneuf Du Pape...how did I do? The CDP tastes goooood!

Ian is so used to the time change now and it drives me crazy because as soon as I arrive in Ireland, I usually am walking like a zombie and he's all into let's go to a pub and have a pint of beer!... The only pint of anything I want at the time is a pint of bed warmth!! :-) I love the pictures! I am so glad that Tom is able to drive. Just make sure that you look BOTH ways before you cros... show all

Yes....we want to see a London blog! Sorry to hear Marley has war wounds from his new playmate. Heidi is doing well...in fact she's sleeping (almost snoring) next to me while I sit at the computer. Hope everyone is having fun traveling!

well it sounds like you are doing the right thing by staying up and buying wine. I did get home and picked up the Marley Dog. He has a big scratch on his head from 'playing' with his new friend 'Gus'...Oh well, looks our boy needs to learn a little manners. You guys enjoy your time in Ireland. I will hold the fort down for the next few days. I wonder if I should start a London Blog?!?
