Although we were in the air a long time, the flight went quite quickly. However, it was extremely bumpy on our way into Riyadh and Patrick had to help the autopilot on occasions when there were 'holes' in the air…. 39deg on our arrival into Riyadh. The refueller had not been advised of our departure from Luxor and therefore didn’t know that we were coming
Another set of interested Handling Agents met us on the F1 parking Apron and helped put the plane to bed. It was so humid that we were instantly awash! The superb handling agents soon had a room booked for us at a new Hotel nearby and arranged for air-conditioned transport to take us there – what a relief. On arrival we were upgraded to a two-bedroomed Suite complete with kitchen and study. Shame we were there for only 12 hrs! A room-service meal, and a good night’s rest. We had flown 8.5 hrs today – our longest so far. Patrick was amazed and relieved that we had crossed the Saudi Arabian peninsular in a day without any real problems….
- How high above sea level is the city of Riyadh?
