After a scary ride in a mini bus with a Schumacher wannabe, I made it to Lago Atitlan. That crazy guy, who seemed to be unaware of the fact that Schumi has a better car, canīt have people coming from around the corner in the opposite direction and F1 circuits donīt usually include small, curving mountain roads, dropped us in Pana(jachel) where I immediately took the boat to San Pedro, at the other side of the lake.

It was clear from the first second that it was a budget travelers favorite and that it would never make it to my top 10 list. It is a rather "dirty" place, with lots of "alternative" travelers and not much to do. My hostel was all you could expect here and moreover very noisy at night (until 4:00 am) with people who thought they were the only ones there.

Well, it will be clear that I didnīt really like it there... what was nice though were the nice café-restaurants who had daily movies. But if that s the highlight of a place, most is said I guess...
