The bus drive from Mendoza towards Bariloche was a long one, but a good night sleep in a comfortable bus and some nice views at the last part of the ride made it a nice experience.

Here in Bariloche I have spent some more easy days. I spent lots of time in the magnificent hostal 1004, at the 10th floor of an appartment building with great views over the lake and the surrounding mountains. Relaxing, reading, playing chess, wine tasting, cooking... a nice time. And again, a great hostal, not only for the view. Also the people running it are very nice and helpfull, it s very cosy with a nice big comfy living room, a big kitchen, ... and all of it very, very clean.

06 Circuito chico

I went on two day trips. One was the circuito chico, a short circuit as the name says that goes past some small lakes in the Parque national Nahuel Mapi. As the weather wasn īt realy good, the views were not as they could have been. But it was nice anyway and a first contact with Patagonian harsh weather conditions (WIND!!)

The second was a walk up to refugio Frey, a very nice walk in beautifull weather on the day that I took the bus to Puerto Madryn. At refugio Frey you can do traditional rock climbing, of which you will hear more in my next entries. I met an American guy, Jay, at the hostal, who is very experienced and completely equiped to trad climb. He told me that the climbing at refugio Frey is realy awesome, so I wanted to go check that out before leaving. As you will see in the next entry, I liked it and came back after the whale watching to go for some real climbing!
