Well, what did I do with my time in La Paz? I arrived here almost two weeks ago, Sunday night. The first week I didn´t do to much, but taking Spanish classes. Those were OK, but not much more than that. The teacher understood what I needed, beeing a lot of conversation, but also gave a lot of grammar revision, which is good and usefull, if she would have prepared for it properly. Beeing a teacher myself I am probably a very difficult student, I totaly aknowledge that, but she worked with old books where I just had to copy from, also the exercises. Anyway, I did learn some things of course and now it s mainly up to me to talk to the people in Spanish, always the best lesson!
The rest of my days I passed shopping around on the markets, eating and drinking and getting my next weeks together.
Also got into the rythem of saying Hi and Goodbye to people, met a half Dutch, half Bolivian girl, Renée, on the bus, we kept contact during the week and tried to set up a trekking in the Andes together (which in the end didn´t work out) and then she was off to the jungle. In the dromitorio of the hostal I met a New Zealand guy, already traveling for 7 months or so, we went out a few times and then he was off to Orruro on his way to Buenos Aires. At the Huayna Potosi climb I met this very nice German couple, Marlon and Caroline, we had a great time going out the day after we came back from the climb. Back in La Paz I had meanwhile met an Australian girl, Cathy, in the dormitorio and she joined us on this realy fun "tango night". And than yesterday, I met a group of two French girls and a Brittish guy at the hostal, whom I joined to some art exhibition of a friend of a friend of a friend of the Brittish guy and a drink afterwards.
And now I am off to the jungle, Cathy is going on this tour, but for all the rest it s goodbye and see you on the internet. More thumbnails ...
