Vientiene, Laos

Arriving in Lao was like a breath of fresh air. This small country has more charm than most twice its size. We spent 3 days in Vientiene, the tiny capital city, walking around checking out temples and markets and whatnot. We met a great Aussie couple, Leharne & Andrew Fountain, who we had a few drinks with sitting along the Mekong River then the next morning we met up before they left for Luang Prabang to see the beautiful temple that graces the cover of our Lonely Planet Lao. We participated in a free meditation class at a temple in the woods which was amazing. After hearing from Star, a friend we met on Koh Tao, we decided to head up to Vang Vieng to meet up with her. The best idea we've had yet.
