So we drove for 8 hours on the bus to Nice and went on a quick driving tour of the city before checking into our hotel. Topdeck then took us all out to a local French Restaurant for dinner and a bit of a walk around town.
Next day the morning was free for us to explore Nice in our own time, we came across some markets and had lunch next to the beach. (which has no sand, just pebbles!) We then hopped back on the Bus which took us to a lookout over the town of Nice before continuing on to a local French Perfumery.
After spending too much money we went to Monaco. Monaco is the second smallest country in the world (second to the Vatican), and has only 32,000 residents. The prince himself gets to choose who and who does not live there, even Michael Jackson got turned down! We stopped off at the Royal Palace where the prince lives, saw the little church where Grace Kelly and the previous Prince of Monaco got married, then it was on to the Monte Carlo Casino (which was the setting for the James Bond film 'Casino Royale')
We had to show our passports to get in as only people who are not citizens of Monaco are allowed to gamble, the prince of monaco made this law because it is a tax free haven and they simply use the money people lose in the casino to pay for everything in the country. The casino was very small, but pretty fancy. The minimum bets at tables were 25 Euro, so we decided not to donate any of our money to the country!!!
