So heres what we've done so far... I'm going to try and make this one quick!!
Aug 23
We did some grocery shopping before heading out with Britts 3rd cousin (or something) Stephen to a Ballymena United football match... we lost!
Aug 24
We drove and drove and drove up to the Northern-most tip of Ireland, Fahed Head... lovely views, but a lot of driving. After we got back from that little trip we went to the local stock car races... apparently we were bad luck (for the drivers) and witnessed more crashes than usual (according to Stephen)... including one injury crash!
Aug 25
Nothing too exciting, walked on the beach a little then went and visited with some of Britts family members
Aug 26
Walked on the beach some more... went to see 'Knocked Up' at the local theatre with some of Britts family.
Aug 27
We went to Giants Causeway ....fill in more later...time running out...
28th
I cant remember!!
THE REST IS COPIED FROM BRITTS BLOG... SORRY... I DIDNT HAVE TIME TO WRITE MY OWN!!
29th
Today we went on a drive in the morning. We drove along the Coastal road and ended at CArrick-a-rede rope bridge. We crossed it and it was significantly scarier this time as the wind was fierce and the tide was out revealing the jagged rocks below us...
After pictures of the island we returned back to the car...grabbed lunch at the Giant's Causeway and then went grocery shopping. We then went on Ruth's advise to a place in Port Rush Harbour called Coast...and we bought the most exciting desserts ever...
We all returned home and the anticipation of the massive desserts was on our minds so we ate an extremely small supper and dug right into the brownie, Banoffe pie and Pavlovas....mmmmm each of us enjoyed our dessert so much we pretty much just passed out and went to bed...as we seem to do every night...
I'm not too sure what it is here but we love to sleep here...and so we'll continue to do so because it's so great to sleep and wake up in the morning not having to jam everything back into a backpack and then sit on a bus for hours.... :)
30th
Today we drove up to Carrickfergus and went to Trevor and Ruth's house. When we were greeted at the door though we were met by Lisa's new puppy...he is absolutely adorable.....and they took one of my suggestions for his name..."Bailey"....cuz he's the colour of the drink...he is beyond adorable and it made me want a small dog and I don't like small dogs....
The morning Ca and I spent trying to work out where we were going to stay once we got to Bergamo next Tuesday..but we didn't book...instead we went shopping in Belfast
Trevor left us in and Lisa, Ca and I shopped for a coupe hours, and stopped at Starbucks....mmmm my first real latte in a month and it felt wonderful!
After we were done it was rush hour in Belfast so we took the train back to Carrickfergus where Trevor picked us up and brought us back to their house. Here Ca and I finally decided on a B & B in Bergamo for the night (it's really not cheap there so we hope to find something cheaper for the rest of the Milan stay) and I updated a few of my travelblogs (so ones that were previously blank are kinda filled in....the grammar kinda sucks though ....but that's like all of the them so oh well) .... Grandma and Grandpa arrived just before we all sat down to dinner (Ruth and Trevor didn't get sitting though because during dinner they had like 10 people call for the Car Sales yard though) and it was great...We left quite late so once we finally got back up to Port Rush we went straight to bed...
31st
Today Grandpa left Ca and I into Coleraine to do some Celtic Silver shopping. Three years ago all the shops in this little town were amazing...great selection, price everything and when we got there we saw that all of them were gone....So the shopping turned to more clothing shopping (we love it here!!! the clothes are fun and different and reasonably priced...or so we think...). Ca is specifically loving it because after a month with the same shirt in different colours she feels like she is "swimming in a pool of pattern" and is buying it all up...Good thing Grandma and Grandpa will be taking stuff home for us..
Most of the stuff I have bought has been for work...and I love it all because you could never find the colours, patterns, styles or anything like it back home..and its all so cute!!
Anyhow that was a girly diversion.... After we Had finished we took the train back to Port Rush and began getting our feast prepared for Derrick, Angela, Stephen, and Violet who were coming over later for "Tea" (Dinner)....
Lets just say Ca and I blew them away...considering how much I have missed baking, cooking (just being in the Kitchen in general) we went all out... Pear & Brie starter followed by Stuffed Steak (beer gravy), creamed peas, candied onions, and garlic potatoes and for dessert two types of cheesecake (blackcurrant and cherry) all washed down with wine, and snakebites (beer, cider and blackcurrant juice)....it was good...and it was even better because I cooked and Ca did the dishes (and you all know how much I hate doing dishes and how big a mess I make when I cook)
So that was the day...
1st
Today we came into Ballymena with the intentions to see Nigel play Rugby for the U 18 Ulster team however we decided to shop instead....no offense but we are girls and don't know the game of Rugby so it just made sense...
We Had our first taste of home today.... SUBWAY...and it was fantastic...absolutely fantastic and it was accompanied by the coldest pop we have had for the last month!
We did some strolling among the streets but we ended up here at the Public Library paying to be on the Internet because we thought we had time to upload some pictures...unfortunately we did not know that the computers would block us from uploading pictures because the files were too big! So sorry to all of you but no pictures still!
I think tonight's plan is for Erica to have her first Ulster fry (so our bad eating here continues but oh well I have ran 9 miles since I got here and climbed a mountain) .... After dinner I think I am going to make Ca climb down the cliff face to get some good ocean pictures but we'll see...
We are going to leave for Dublin early early Tuesday morning so for those of you that were going to call us on our mobile (01144 7927 330846 from Canada we are told this works) you only have two and bit days...keep in mind we are 7 hours ahead of you and we like our sleep!
This next leg of the vacation is a little scary since we only have flights and one night at one hotel booked....so we'll see how this next little bit goes....keep your eyes peeled as we have no idea where we will be.....
Today we climbed Slemish and it was quite an accomplishment...
Then we went on a hop on/off bus tour of Belfast after Grandpa and Billy Watt dropped us off and that leads us to now....in the internet cafe...
time is running out no time to finish or making this post sound any better..
