So after visiting the museum in Vientiane, we had some time to spare and 10 bucks left in Laos currency so we decided to get ourselves a one hour foot massage for 5 bucks each. Needless to say it was awesome!! Then we took the night bus from Vientiane to Bangkok. Long journey, usual delays but overall the trip was pretty good. The Thai bus even had a stewardess like flights passing in the alley with trays of food and drinks. We arrived at 6:30 am in downtown Bangkok. Unlike other touristy cities we have visited so far, the tourist offices do not open until 9:30 in Bangkok. So we just sat in a restaurant and wasted time until 9:30 where we booked our bus/boat combination trip to the southern islands for the same night. We went to a mall for the rest of the day because it had A/C and we didn't feel like walking around knowing that we could not take a shower at the end of the day. The mall was a tourist attraction in itself. It was HUGE! So we stayed there for a couple hours and watched a movie. We made our way back to Khoa San Road (the famous road in Bangkok for tourists with lots of shopping!) where we got some food before going to catch our night bus to the island. The bus trip was pretty good and we arrived at the pier at aroudn 7 am and then took a jam packed boat to Koh Phangan. It was kind of crazy getting here because it is the full moon party on Saturday and there is a Buddhist holiday making it a long weekend for Thai people so everybody is coming down south and specially to this island. Everybody was scaring us telling us taht we could not find any accomodation but this was all lies because we got here and got ourselves a sweet bungalow by the beach for 15$ a night. Not bad at all!! After the bed bugs episode we are now willing to pay a little extra!! By the way, we have inspected our bags and clothes carefully and could not see any trace of them so I think we are fine!! ouf!!
