Hi!

So yesterday we left Cambodia pretty early in the morning to make our way to Vietnam.  The 6 hour journey was pretty smooth and so was the boarder crossing.  We arrived in the middle of the afternoon and found a guest house.  We then went to walk around at the market and grad some delicious vietnamese food.  The market here was crazy, so many brand names for so cheap.  Puma shoes for 20$...i like.  they even have winter jackets...although that would be hard to bring back.  We also booked our open bus tour throughout Vietnam yesterday.

Today, we went to see a temple where Cadoism is practiced.  That is a mixed of several religions.  It was pretty intense.  They are all dressed in white.  After that, we went to the Cu Chi tunnels to see the tunnels during the Vietnam War.  They are tiny!! We walked through one that they had enlarged for us to see and it was still pretty tiny.  It was crazy to see the whole system designed during the war with all the traps for the americans.  Also, we went to see a arts place where disabled people make all sort of plates, chopsticks, trays, all hand made with wood and shells and paint.  Everything was so awesome but unfortunately a bit too pricy for us so we couldnt buy anything.  Moms you would have gone crazy with all those fancy plates!

So far Vietnam is pretty sweet and we love it.  We feel that there is less scams all around like Cambodia!! but who knows maybe we are just trusting too easily.  Also, we are getting pretty good at crossing streets now.  The amount of motorbikes here is insane!! Even more than in cambodia but at least it is a bit more legislated here: helmets are manditory and no more than 2 persons on the motorbike.

Tomorrow, we will walk around the city and Saturday we leave for our next destination with the sand dunes.

hotel Hanoi
Bon voyage! Amusse-toi bien!
