Our next stop was Mission Beach. We heard about it in the past and decided to pay a visit. Also, we wanted to see how it is looking now after cyclone Yasi that happened in February.

There are two, or rather three parts of Mission Beach: Mission Beach itself, Wongaling Beach and South Mission Beach. We stayed in South Mission Beach where our Big4 Caravan Park is located. It is placed at the sea in front of Duck Island. It was very quit there especially now in the off peak season. They have good facilities with a big swimming pool with a water slide. Honestly saying we did not do much over there. Only we drove to Mission Beach centre and went for one rainforest walk. We observed that Yasi was a very destructive cyclone and many trees did not recover even now - 10 months later. However the rainforest damage was the only thing after Yasi we saw. All buildings and houses are going well and it looks like there was never cyclone here.

Weather in Mission Beach was very humid and we were sweating badly. I even compared it to Karumba at Arafura Sea. Thus we splashed at least 5 times per day in the pool.
