There are not many 4WD tracks around Port Douglas. One is the Creb Track starting from Daintree that was already closed. Second is the Bloomfield Track from Cape Tribulation to Cooktown that we left for next time. The last one is the Black Mountain Road.
We arrived to Kuranda after 2 hours. It was our second visit in this nice, tourist town. Kasha went to Butterfly Sanctuary to take some photos and I bought my first, Kangaroo leather hat. We spent some time having lunch and walking around as the atmosphere there was really nice.
Later, we drove up to Barron Falls. We had seen it already two years ago when we first visited this region. However this time we took the car and we saw it from different perspective. Two years ago we took the Kuranda train and this time we did a boardwalk that was really nice.
On the way back to Kuranda, we were driving off the main road to see how people live here. Some of the houses and lots looked really reach and nice and if we had money we would live here for sure, but what to do here?
In the past, even after our first visit, I did not consider Cairns and Port Douglas region as so attractive. That time I could compare it only with Gold Coast but know after 7 months of travelling I can look at it from different angle. Not only we discovered Cairns, Port Douglas and nice beaches but we visited Daintree National Park, Daintree Village and Tableland with its magnificent places like Ravenshoe, Atherton, Lake Tinaroo and many, many others. It is interesting how much we have changed our point of view after seeing so many places.
Soon, after we arrive to Cairns we will explore more of this beautiful country …
