We're back! We've left Montana behind (clocking up 860 miles there). Missoula was nice, and very bike friendly. Crossing the State line into Idaho meant another good climb over Lookout Pass (4,680 ft), where the rain turned to snow as we got to the top of the climb. Wheeed down to Mullan where we picked up the Hiawatha Trail, a nice tarmac surface on a disused railway line, specially for bikes. Bliss to get away from the traffic! Stayed in Wallace overnight then on to Coeur D'Alene on the same trail. Coeur D'Alene is a lovely city on a large lake (same name), where the rich come to play on their boats. We sat on a bench on the main street and people watched - good fun! Only 84 miles to cross Idaho and we're in Washington. Stayed in Spokane, Washington's 2nd largest city, but it was too busy for our liking. We're resting our bums today in Wilbur (950 pop.) and the sun's shining. This is more like it! Had good banter with the locals in the cafe at lunchtime.
P.S It's good to know that you're all sharing in our adventure with us. It's keeping the homesickness at bay. XX

Well, we are new to this malarky. We posted a very exciting, intellectual piece on your blog - and it isn't showing. So I guess it just got sent straight to you!! Now we are too late to say anything else exciting, because we have to go and put on the milk!! See you soon, don't come back without cake!!!! Luv Catherine, Laura S and Sylvia K
