We arrived in Switzerland late Saturday night. Weird experience as the
check-in is at the bar! But all in all, it turned out okay, for what we
paid anyway ($70/nt). I think i'd stay here again.
So this was supposed to be our day for some crazy hiking or something
in the alps. But, alas, mother nature was exactly on our side with
this one... It pretty much rained the entire day!
But we made the best of it by first checking out interlaken a bit. Not
a very big town and not a ton going on but there were tons of shops
and such. Even though the weather still wasn't so hot we set out
hiking anyway.
We first head for grindelwald which I had read was a nice little town.
It probably is on a nice sunny day! On this day it was somewhat
gloomy. We didn't have much of a plan so we just head for the hills -
their are trails in every direction. We found some interesting sites
along the way. There was a huge gorge that they allowed people to walk
through and many nice alpine restsirsnts as well - very much what you
would expect. I think we. Climbed about 1000ft before we opted to head
back to town. It was soooooo green!
Not too much going on on interlaken on a rainy Sunday night so we got
some clothes done...
Hoping for better weather tomorrow!
