Today was our last in Germany and on arvid's suggestion we opted to visit rothenburg. This is a lively medeivel old city with it's city walls still intact. When we arrived (it was quite a drive from Munich), it was once again raining (perhaps sept is a bad time?), but we made the best of it. We started our walking around the old walls of the city - this not only gave us a great overview, but it kept us dry as well! The city had really preseved it's heritage very well - all the restaurants, hotels, shops, etc. We went to the town square where people in thfmed costume were performing on honor of the city's continued "free" status, so this was neat as well. We finished out visit at a traditional restaurant where we had yet more sausages!
Sadly we had to leave before visiting the Ulm cathedral as we had planned - perhaps it just a bit too much for our short trip!
Overall, I had a great impression of Germany. Maybe it I'd best to have a guide as we did who was so enthusiastic about his country, so that was great. And he was a wonderful host - I coils only hope to be half as accommodating if someone came to visit me.
Next stop: switzerland!

note that I think the pin isn't in the right location / maybe there are two rothenburgs?
