Well everyone told me they'd laugh in my face if I tried to open a Swiss Bank Account and they did. They laughed because they thought it was hilarious!
The first bank I went to was Credit Swiss. I spoke to someone who spoke to someone who spoke to Tim Oelfke who came downstairs to meet me. I was informed that I needed 5000 Swiss francs to open an account. I told Tim I had 5.
After flashing the endeuro2000 ID and my Operation Tycoon Mission Statement. Tim spoke to someone who spoke to someone who told Tim I could Open the account to get my 25 Tycoon points then they'd close the account straight away. That was all I needed.
Tim had to get permission from one final someone in Zurich but it shouldn't be a problem and I could come back tomorrow to open the account. My problem was I wasn't going to be in Basel beyond lunch time.
Tim quietly suggested that I try The United bank of Switzerland across the road because their head office was in Basel and if someone needed to get someone to get permission from someone, that someone would be more easily contactable.
That someone was the manager, Cedric Burgin, a busy man who took the time to meet me, hear my story, laugh at it and assign Alain Rochat as my account manager. Alain took me to a room full of polished brass and wood and the deed was done. 25 Operation Tycoon points were credited to my endeuro2000 account.
I must issue a genuine, heart felt apology to UBS for accidentally taking their pen. Sorry Cedric.
