ah Fiji Fiji Fiji - cool to be back here again although it really is a fleeting visit - kinda planned it wrong, was expecting to have a couple of days here at least but forgot about crossing the international date line and have ended up being here for only one full day and to top it all its a Sunday when town isn't open and there are no buses anyway!! Just wanted to get some of the bugs spray and antihistamines that I bougt last time I was here to help with the itching of mosquito bites which is beginning to drive me absolutely mad!!
Still another mishap to add to the list although nothings broken or damaged or hurt this time!! I'm staying in the Nomads Skylodge which is a hotel which accomodates backpackers as well. Its okay - the pool area is nice and the restaurant but thats about all there is and its out near the airport and not near town so not much to do and it seems really quiet although Nadi is really just a transit centre for the Yasawa islands so thats probably why!!
I wouldn't recommend that anyone stay at this backpackers unless u need to get to the airport or ur just coming from the airport (free shuttle bus both ways) because thats what backpackers seem to use it for and if your in a dorm people are in and out at all hours coming and going from the airport and sleeping soundly isn't an option with lights on and off and doors slamming.
Not much else to say really, weather is great Fijians are friendly and welcoming as always and the beach is Nadi is still horrible! I think they should have a big sign up on that beach saying "not all beachs in Fiji are like this" - its scary how dirty the sand is and quite terrifying when its your first impression of a Fijian beach its like "what the hell - this place is supposed to be a tropical paradise!!"
Still off to New Zealand tomorrow and really looking forward to that......
