Actually my plan for today was to take a casual stroll over to Castro and Haight Ashbury to see what all the fuss was about - I was gonna have a lazy day really just get up when I wake up and go when I'm ready kinda thing but two french girls arrived last night Jessica and Virginia they're both great although Virginia is very excitable and a bit mad which is always good. I sat up pretty late chatting with them then Virginia decided to go out and I dunno what time she came back - well actually I know she got back because she managed to drop the entire contents on her purse on the floor, walk into the lockers and fall off the top bunk all in the space of about 5 minutes!!!

So I got up just after Virginia did cos her and quiet don't go together in any way shape or form (but she is lovely) and she asked if I wanted to join her and Jessica on the walking tour that the hostel were doing for free which sounded good and cheap!

I must admit that even though it was bloody hard work (the hills really are huge and they go on forever like for 4 blocks and some are so steep that they have stairs!) it was such a good day and I wouldn't have managed to see half the things that I did if I hadn't done the tour but my feet and my calves are absolutely killing me! I did keep stopping half way up the hills to take photos (well not really but it gave me a chance to stop and catch my breath!) having said that by the end of the walk (its about 5 hours) I was coping with the hills and the heat much better! You will be pleased to know that I am currently doing my impression of Rudolph - I did put cream on yesterday but obviously not enough and now have a nice red nose and sunglass marks on my cheeks which foundation just refuses to cover up!!

San Francisco Trams!

San Francisco really is a beautiful city and even though there is stuff that I wanna see but haven't I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Las Vegas. I think that maybe its a good idea always to have a reason to go back to a place and leave with good memories instead of never wanting to see a place again like with Montreal!

So I'm gonna try and get a relatively early night as I'm gonna need to be out of the hostel by about 6am to walk to the greyhound station to make sure I get a seat on the 8am bus to LA which takes 9 long hours then I have to get another bus in LA to Vegas which takes another 6 hours so I'm gonna have quite a long bus ride but Vegas is supposed to be groovy and I have a hostel all booked and a trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam set for Tuesday so its all good even though one of the guys has just told me that you can stay in Circus Circus for $45 per night so maybe I'll treat myself........
