Still in Montreal and still having more mishaps!!

So i'm still in Montreal. I went to the body worlds exhibition yesterday which was really good if a bit kinda gory when you think that the bodies and parts are actually real but the guy has done wonders for modern medicene with his research and the place was packed with loads of people including small kids who were equally as fascinated. I'm not sure whether I would want all my bits on display like that though but loads of people were filling in the forms to donate their bodies for plasination. check out the website at www.bodyworlds.com its pretty groovy stuff!

I also decided to buy myself a laptop. I had toyed with the idea before I left home but obviously coming to the states and Canada I wasn't going to buy a laptop in England. Anyway I am now the proud owner of an apple macbook - just the little one so in theory it should be easy to carry around with me and in theory I should be able to upload my pictures now

So all excited I came back to the hostel to get out of the heat (its 32 degrees in the shade and its really uncomfortable) to play with my new toy. plugged the USB card reader in and I thought that my pictures were being transferred successfully I dunno wot happened but all the pictures were gone - not on the laptop, not on the SD Reader and no longer on the SD card - I thought it was the end of the world, well actually it was the end of the world, the final straw -wot else could possibly go wrong. So I had a little breakdown - I was coming home the trip was jinxed, everything had gone wrong and I'd only been away just over a week!.

Anyway after a shower and a little chat with myself (and my dad and Manu) I was calm again and not coming home just yet. I done a little research and found a program to recover my pictures which I've done only now they're corrupt but after a little bit more research I think its because this is an apple and only certin cameras and certain card readers are compatible with it so I need to get a compatible card reader and hopefully then things will be groovy!

So I had a pretty rubbish day. I think that part of it is home sickness, well not homesickness in the sense that I want to come home but that I do miss everyone and that if all this stuff had happened while I was at home yeah I would have been annoyed but I would probably have handled things a bit better and not thrown a huge strop

! and blown everything out of proportion in the way that I did.

I thought that I was handling the whole being away thing quite well and I guess that I am but I knew that it would catch up with me eventually and I didn't know what would happen to trigger it but I guess that now I know. Hopefully that'll be the last of the feeling rubbish but I'm not counting on that!!

Anyway the hostel is still great, they really really try hard here to make everyone happy. They got paddling pools out today and water sprays and water bombs as it was so hot - they also had a supply of deodorant for people who didn't have any which was great (although I had my own!!) The only downside that I can see to this hostel is (a) the mattresses are all airbeds so everytime you move they make loads of noise but they are comfy and (b) the air conditioning in the dorm isn't strong enough and it is sooo hot at night and sweat pours off you just laying in bed having said that I haven't had any problems sleeping! I'd definately recommend staying here if you're coming to Montreal (www.lesousbois.com - and it really does look like that)
