Today we had a relaxing morning before packing up and heading to the beach around 10:30. It wasn't too crowded when we first got there, but by the time we left it was very packed. We stayed for a few hours just relaxing and enjoying the sun. A few of us went for a walk down the beach and then stopped by a restaurant for some lunch. When we decided we'd had enough sun for the day we went home to shower and get ready for a day trip to Cartagena.

We arrived in Cartagena around 5pm and set about looking for the main square. We found it after accidentally driving through it before we parked on a street just outside. After that adventure, we made our way through the picturesque square to the beautiful old town hall building. There we got a little info on the local sights.

We visited the Spanish Civil War museum to see the bomb shelters and learn a little more about Cartagena's importance during the war. After that we took the elevator up "the tower" to visit the Castillo de la Concepcion. The view from the tower gave us some nice pictures of the old bullfighting arena, which unfortunately we couldn't visit due to reconstructions. The reconstructed castle also gave us fantastic views of the city, the harbor, and the ancient Roman amphitheater.

After wandering back down to the main square, we wandered into the shopping district where he had supper and did a little shoe shopping. As nighttime rolled around we just walked around, enjoying the beautiful buildings and quaint streets.

Pictures are great, take a look!
