Saturday morning started with an extended walk around the local neighborhoods. We are staying in an area called Los Dolses and nearby is Villemartin and Rioja. There is a wide variety of residential accomodations here. There are beautiful private villas, duplex style villas, row condos and apartments. The entire area is very clean and quiet. There is a large expat community here with Brits and Scandinavians being the two largest groups. Employment is high as the expats bring money to spend but don't take jobs from Spaniards.
The 5 of us had a lunch at a local Irish favorite called The Stray Sod. We were initially surprised to see so many British and Irish pubs but it makes sense when you consider the expat community.

After lunch, Val and  I played a round of golf at Las Ramblas. The course had some beautiful vistas and some very interesting architecture. There were several gorges to hit over and on several approach shots you had trees and bushes blocking your view of the green. One short par 4 looked like a hike in the woods as there were trees everywhere. The atmosphere was very relaxed in the clubhouse as there is not as much play in the heat of the summer. The kids joined us for a very nice  dinner on the clubhouse patio.

We made it an early nite as we had already decided on a road trip for Sunday.
