And I traded in my innocence when the springtime came in bloom
And I married for my family; one night I dreamed of you
And you were running from me in the rain down on Congress Avenue -Nancy Griffith
Writing you today from Hooters in Beaumont, Texas. There's a reason. Rear tire on Lefty's bike about to go. Twice in a calendar year I have stopped for a tire in Texas. Hooters just happened to be the only place to eat in the vicinity other than the five or six other places.
Had a great time in Austin
Left Antones and had dinner and a beer or two at Stubbs Bar-be-que...the briscit falls off the fork. I remember listening to a band in Stubbs with my brother-in-law 14 years years ago. Quite the venue. I'm a fan of Stubbs. That I remembered it at all is somewhat amazing because they used to have really good beer-but that's another series of stories...
One of the traditions in Austin is watching the bats come out of the Congress Avenue bridge at twilight. We made a beeline over to the bridge to check it out. Had to wait almost an hour and at one point I turned to my traveling companion and said "Golly, (yes, I say golly...dont judge me!) I wonder if Robin remembered to set the Bat-alarm?
Lance just looked at me.
Trying to make I to Baton Rouge this evening for my personal favorite, Cajun Food.
