25th January
What a lovely sleep - comfy bed, hot water, tv - all the mod cons at New Siam 2!! Up early (as usual!) as I wanted to go to Chatuchak Weekend Market - wow this is the market to beat all markets! Apparently it has more than 8000 stalls and I can well believe it! Took the skytrain, which dropped me off straight outside, and just wandered for a couple of hours - it sells just about everything including animals! I tell you what if I lived in Bangkok I would have about 100 puppies now - there were absolutely loads of them for sale - all types (but luckily no Widgets or Boogies!!) from small ones to big ones, and so cute!! They were also quite expensive - a man asked how much one was and it was almost £100 - so if they are bought I suppose at least they will be looked after. One thing I was pleased about was the fact they looked healthy and happy - most were playing, so that made me feel better (but I still would have come home with some!!).
As well as puppies, there were kittens, baby rabbits (cost less than £1), little furry things with long tails (a little like squirrels), mice and lots of colourful fish and birds, including a peacock!!!! This was quite an experience!!!
Took skytrain to Emporium, where I decided to watch Lord of the Rings final part!! Well, what a posh cinema - not like our St.Austell one!!! It had huge soft seats which rocked slightly and a massive screen - I was very impressed! I had to put up with the Thai subtitles, but thought the film was fab - glad finally got to see it! Typical though, when I was eating my meal in the evening, what were they showing on the tv (bootleg of course!) - Lord of the Rings!! So I have waited for ages to see it and then go and watch it twice in one day!!!

Gentle day today as I have a hectic couple of weeks coming up (Vietnam and Cambodia) - took boat to central pier and skytrain to Tesco - yes I went shopping at Tesco!!! It was massive and it sold much nicer food than ours!! Spent the afternoon people watching on Khao San Road with coconut shakes and finishing my book - can swap it now!
Flying to Ho Chi Mihn City tomorrow - start of another adventure!
