After arriving in Ho Chi Minh we checked into a family run guest house. Within a matter of minutes it became clear that the old lady running it was absolutely mental but she was really lovely. Every time we left our room she would come running up to us shouting "lovely lovely face", She would then grab Aidans bottom and stroke my face.

After we had run the gauntlet of assault in our guest house foyer we headed off to the War Rembrandt Museum.  It was absolutely horrific. They had entire sections dedicated to the US use of Agent Orange during the war and had thousands of pictures of the deformities that the chemical had caused. They even had feotus in a jar!

After looking around the museum we headed for some food as we had some more war sights to see the following day!

14th

We headed off to the Chu Chi Tunnels. The Chu Chi tunnels run for miles under ground and are where the Viet Cong used to hide and fight during the war. While looking around we were shown traps that were used to catch American soldiers.

The tunnels themselves were only 80 cm wide and 3ft tall so Westerners would struggle to get through them. It was horrible to imagine that they used to send US soldiers down there in the dark to face the Vietnamese. I couldn't even go down there now and its a tourist sight!!.

Aidan however did decide to go through the maze of tunnels. I congratulated him on his bravery and sat down expecting to be waiting about 25 mins. To my surprise a very hot, and flustered Aidan popped up less that 5 minutes later. I think he decided he had seen enough!!!!

We carried on wondering around (above ground) and having turned down to opportunity to shoot a cow with a rocket launcher or throw a 40 year old russian grenade in Cambodia, Aidan jumped at the chance to fire and AK47. They don't actually give you ear defenders until you are in the firing pit and at that time everyone is letting off guns all over the place. We were both half deaf by the time we emerged!
