Show trip route
The nerves haven't actually started to bite yet, I said goodbye to a couple of former students this morning who came round to see the photos of the last show I produced. As a dance teacher it is certainly going to be different in Africa. Not so much 'pirouette' and lots more 'stomp'!
I've been reading a book by Paul Theroux about his travels from Cairo to Cape Town. He says that in order to really "travel" you have to cut yourself off and not contact anyone .. No emails, no mobile, no website. Hmmmmmm, I'm not that brave! I think I need some contact and I am really looking forward to hearing from friends back home and also writing to them to let them know how I am... I can only presume that Mr T has loads of understanding friends who don't mind that he disappears off the map! I also think a diary is great way of preserving memories, and possibly inspiring other people to travel.
...So who is going to come and visit me first then? !! Mmm... thought as much! Okay so maybe not inspiring, maybe cathartic in the way that Eastenders makes you glad you don't live in Albert Square! Never mind.. enjoy rainy England, and I'll see you when I get back.
.....Look out Africa, here I come!
