It is 398km from Fitzroy crossing to Broome - not much scenery along the way. We arrived around 2pm, went to the Information centre to see if they knew an auto electrician. Yes, they did, so we went to see them and they said, they could fix it in about 15 mins...... An hour and a half later, it was all finally working, not only did the Anderson plug need replacing but the circuit breaker had also failed and had to be replaced. We were grateful it only cost $90 and now all is working fine.
We are staying at the Cable Beach caravan park - big park, over 500 sites, but it is nowhere near full at the moment. It is fully booked out in July/August. We watched the sun set over Cable Beach (well you have to, don't you?). And later when the moon rose went see the "Staircase to the moon" - this happens at certain low tides when the moon rises over the mud flats at Town Beach and you get an effect where it appears like a staircase going to the Moon. There were hundreds of people down there and at times it was like daylight with all the flashes going off. Nice effect.
We are staying in Broome for 3 nights. This is a bit of chill out time to get over the Tanami before tackling the dirt of the Gibb River Road. Not expecting to do a lot more here but relax, so probably will not update until we are in Derby on Thursday.
