This photo gives an idea, but they stretch as far as you can see. After that, there was just lots of flat nothing. The most exciting thing today was the rush they had at Marla when we stopped for fuel - we arrived with a whole bunch of others and had to queue for petrol pumps and in the line to pay. The operator was very put out! Finally we crossed the border into Northern Territory.
Still had over 300 km to go to Yulara and that was just more flat boring country with little vegetation.
Isn't it a pity that all the good bits of Australia are seperated by so much nothing! Finally arrived at Yulara around 5PM and booked into the campground. It is very well set up and we have a nice spot backing onto the sand dune used as a lookout. (It ought to be OK considering how they charge - $38/per night for a campsite).
A big day of driving today. Left Coober Pedy about 8:30am. North of CP, the landscape is really weird with millions of conical piles of debris from the mineshafts.
