Visited a panama hat factory this morning.  The hats if fact originate in Ecuador but got their name as they were popular with the workers on the Panama canal. They were amazing, and range in price from $15 to $2000. The top quality ones felt so soft. Top quality hats take an expert weaver eight months to make.
We then visited a ceramic shop with works by Eduardo Vega.
This afternoon Emma, Josh, Cristina and I wondered around Cuenca. Its got a very colonial feel with beautiful churches and buildings. Although really we struggled to find things to entertain us.
This evening we shall further investigate the celebrations of Corpus Christi. All the streets are lined with stalls selling sweets and biscuits. Each stall sells pretty much exactly the same thing though, and there must be one hundred of them!
