Well we woke up this morning and returned our key for the villa.  we called the airport and no word on my luggage.  The hotel also said it had not been delivered there!  Ugh what the heck?!?!?!?!?
Well we started our drive from the coast to La Fortuna.  Since we were going through Liberia we stopped at the airportjust in case and low and behold they had my bags!  HALLELUJAH!
We drove through part of Liberia and then on through the country.
Liberia is different from other Costa Rica towns.  It still has some of the old country and older architecture but its modernizing a little bit with its stores and some of its shopping centers and you can see a big American influence there.
As we drove through the country we could see this big red and white striped towers off in the distance which turned out to be their hydroelectric plants.  We could also see lots of windmills for their wind energy.  On the way we stopped in a little town and ate El Salvadorian Pepusa's from a little local restaurant and then got back on the road.  Shortly after getting on the road we were at the top of a hill that over looked Lake Arenal.  To get to where we were going we had to drive all the way around the lake.  At the lookout we got out and bought a few souveniers from the vendors on the side of the road and took pictures of the view.
We got back in the car and not to far down the road was a place called CooCafe.  They were the packaging plant of a Costa Rican coffee but also had a cafe and restaurant.  we sat outside on their deck and had coffee and banana bread.  The restaurant was very detailed and everything was built from all the different Costa Rican woods.
we got back on the road and were in awe of the view of the lake.  it was breathtaking.  as we were driivng we saw this little critter on the side of the road so we stopped to take a picture of it.  a whole family came out and we took our costco granola mix we bought and fed it to them.  omg we had so much fun. Check out the videos....
we said good bye to our little friends ( they are called pyzote) and continued on driving through Nuevo Arenal and on the our hotel Kokoro.  The place was really cute.  little cottages with views of the volcano.  We unpacked and got cleaned up and headed into the town.  we were going to try and find a place to eat dinner but there was a little man in front of one of the stores grilling pork skewers for a little over a buck and they were so good that we just ate a bunch of those.  well i had one, i think manny had like 4 or 5 and james had like 3 or 4.  it was hilarious.  we walked up and down the strip and checked out a few stores, got some ice cream and played on the little kiddie rides ( we're so grown up some times haha)
We went to a restaurant called Luigis and had some drinks and a little food and decided we wanted to find somewhere to go that night.  We had seen a pool hall on the strip but it looked a little shady.  we decided to go check it out anyways.  it was like a scene from a movie.  we walked in and every guy in there looked like trouble.  all noise stopped and they all turned and looked at the guys and then looked me up and down as if like " you guys cant come in here but since you brought here its ok..."  we all looked at each other and said "ummmm lets go"
we laughed pretty hard at the awkwardness.  The guys were teasing me cus different ticos ( thats what Costa Ricans refer to themselves as) walked by and called me Glamour.  haha
We just walked around the plaza and decided to head back since we had an early morning the next day full of adventures.
