Puno was just a stop off for Los Uros on Lake Titicaca - artificial floating islands made out of reeds. People live on them full time - surviving on tourism I imagine. They were bouncy to step on but you didn't feel like you were going to fall through. Every so often they put down another layer of reeds (instead of cleaning up). It all smelt a bit like rotting swamp. My mom tried on an outfit - it was very fetching. She also spent all of our money on a wall hanging -I hope it's worth it!
