Taipei, Day 1

Good News... one full day of travel on various planes in combination with layovers and we have finally reached our destination, Taipei. Some of you might want me to expand on the "full day of travel", but I think it's best we focus on the bright moments of the trip. I have to be honest, the travel was not even that bad. Igor and I managed to get a few hours of sleep along the way which seemed to help because here I am typing up this posting more than 40 hours after departure from Kingston.
So far, Taiwan is a culture shock but pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Igor and I are residing with our dad who lives in the outskirts of the very crowded Taipei. The view from the apartment is fantastic overlooking several temples located on surrounding mountains. Location is very good and we are hoping to start exploring the city as soon as we get a good nights sleep.
Today, after taking several drives through the city I was able to make a few quick generalizations about this wonderful country. For example, the ratio of scooters to people has to be extremely high because the sidewalks are often flooded for miles on end with parked mopeds side by side. The second little observation I made was that during the 40 hour flight out to Asia I must have been knighted. Ever since landing on this Continent I seem to be a celebrity, having intrigued fans follow me around watching every one of my moves.
