So it's 4:40am and I leave Singapore in just over an hour for a 14-hour flight to London. End of trip. Boo hoo. But my mum's going to meet me, which is nice.

Last day in Singapore was sadly ruined by clothes shopping. God, how I HATE, HATE, HATE clothes shopping! The produce of about 6 hrs of roaming big shopping malls and little streets was: 2 pairs black trousers suitable for work (from bl**dy Marks & Spencer's) which for some time I thought was going to be the limit of my success. But I managed to find a cotton top which is quite nice, though more suitable for the current weather out here than in the UK!
Men have it so easy when it comes to clothes shopping: want shirt, go to shirt shop, buy shirt in same size & shape as last time. Unfortunately men's shirts don't fit me so I have to go through the procedure of trying to find a shop which has a shirt which a) I like (difficult enough! So many have stupid patterns or frills or other stupid bits)), b) fits me - and as "tailored" ones seem to be in fashion and never fit I totally failed there. Yuk! I wish I could just wear t-shirts, jumpers and comfy trousers all the time.

Anyway, I eventually packed that in, went to the Sultan Mosque for a look around, had a Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel. Much nicer things to do!

Then I went & picked up my bags, got the MRT (tube) to the airport & hung about for a bit reading "Shopaholic & Sister" which turned out maybe not to be the best choice as the heroine starts off by coming home from a long trip abroad to find her friends have other friends and her parents aren't that pleased to see her. Hmmm... still, at least I doubt I have a long-lost sister...

I managed to check in at 10pm (for a 5:50am flight) so was able to go to the
Transit Hotel (marvellous idea!) and hire a room for 6 hours and a sleep. Just woken up and off now to board the plane. Next stop Heathrow.
