Where I stayed
Bus to Pemberton. Helen dropped me at Bunbury to get the bus to Pemberton. I missed her commentary as the bus wandered along the highway. Pemberton is a small country town with not a massive amount going on but it has lots of scenic walks and things.
Gloucester tree & parrots (also scary dogs & kind Chinese tourists). The chief attraction in Pemberton is the Gloucester tree, at 61m it is used as a lookout and it is possible to climb it (up pegs driven into the trunk. I didn't! But I walked out of town at the end of the afternoon to see it. The tree was OK - tall, with some mad people climbing it
Now ensconsed in the YHA hostel which says it is award-winning but probably won its award a fair time ago! Still, it has a good big kitchen so I have eaten & am off to the barbecue.
