Have spent the afternoon looking around the shops, getting my haircut for the pricey sum of 2 quid and preparing for the US without a guide book. Cant believe we will be jetting off to so-called civilisation tomorrow. Having said that there is McDs and Pizza Hut here (although strictly not allowed on our regime) and feels pretty American in many ways.
Costa Rica has been a lot cheaper than we imagined esp accommodation has not been too bad and food can get a good meal for 1.50 to 2 quid. Having said that, although we have only seen a very limited amount of the country, we have preferred the others as it is a bit too touristy for us here. Would still like to come back and do the south and go to Panama one day though.
We are now getting excited about going home, although trying to sort out what we do the first day is not as easy as anticipated trying to see all family we want to. Really find it hard to think this time last year we were getting ready come away. Feels like ages ago when we think of individual places we have been on our trip e.g. Mongolia or Brazil but yesterday in others. Weird how your mind works.
Canīt wait to see our family and friends again especially my niece for the first time and my now much bigger nephew. Is going to be strange heading back to the real world again but hope we donīt lose sight of our new thinking and living that we have done in the last year. We are both keen to keep fit and lose weight (not Dave as he is officially a stick), spend less money and live our lives according to our priorities. We will see what unfolds over the coming months. In the meantime, will try and update this whilst in the US (hopefully on our new laptop!!) and keep trying to enjoy the coming days without getting too excited about home! (Needless to say this didn't happen - am now updating everything on 4 Feb in Chelmsford!)
