We are due to leave today but first have to pick up our laundry from down the road.
Noone there.
Go for breakfast.
Return to laundry. Noone there.
Ask at shop next door when it will be open. They say in an hour.
Return in an hour. Noone there.
Return half an hour later. Noone there.
Ask in the next door shop if they have a telephone number for the owner. They donīt but the agency around the corner does. Go to ask the agency. He doesnīt have a number but shop over the road should do. Get the number from the shop. Go to the phone shop to call, number not responding. Go back to shop and they try from their phone. Mobile is switched off.
Back to laundry. Still noone there. We are getting worried that it wonīt open til Monday and donīt really want to spend 2 more days here.
Ask at the shop the other side if they know where they are. They donīt but suggest we try the restaurant around the back. Go to the restaurant around the back. Guess what? Noone there.
Back to the laundry Dave notices that the door is actually locked from the inside so try to find another entrance. Figure out the only way in is through the restaurant at the back.
5 mins later have found way into the restaurantīs kitchen that leads to the back of the laundry. Liberate our laundry and prepare to flee to Poptun.
Realise we havenīt paid.
Try to give money to shopkeeper, she doesnīt want it. Decide to put it under the door. Then decide better write a note to say what it was for with the help of next door shopkeepers written Spanish.
At this point I notice that 2 women are approaching who I think work in the laundry so we run for it.
Pack our bags as quickly as we can since we are likely to be in some sort of trouble in such a small place.
Before we leave though I have to have some pizza to alleviate my temporary illness.
