Bus arrived Monday morning and we got a free lift with one of the ever-present touts at the bus station to the Lifehouse Hostel one block from Plaza Independencia in the centre of town. A double room with bathroom for 60 pesos. We wander around town which has wide pedestrianised streets with cafes and lots of trees, again very European. There appears to be no real sites to see, which is bit of a relief after Buenos Aires, its just nice to wander, chill and absorb. We opt for a posh lunch of bife de chorizo, the best cut of beef, which was huge and needed a siesta after. Later on more wandering to try and digest our meal did internet and then had a bottle of wine in the hostel patio area. Have a pool but weather bit crap today, fingers crossed the weather forecast for sunshine tomorrow is correct!

Had another battle with an internet place over copying our photos to DVD and the price but got there in the end. Then got a bus to Maipu (Company 10 bus number 171, 172 or 173 on Rioja and Garibaldi), the wine area, about 15km out of town. There we hired bikes and pedalled on our way in the glorious sunshine. In total we visited 3 wineries including one with a museum which we snuck into, we could only tried about 2 wines in each place and even had to pay for some! Had lunch outside in a delicatassen place with lovely gardens which was great and yet more wine. Finished our day off at a chocolate and liqueur place with some more tastings. A tough life as ever! Was good fun but think we preferred Marlborough in New Zealand on balance - more wine and less cycling!!

We are now on the internet again writing our last entry from South Americ and are now trying to finalise our itinerary for Central America which is proving to be difficult. We are thinking we probably need to book places for Christmas and New Year but this goes a bit against our flexible travelling ethos plus we have no idea where we may or may not like.

Right had better go for now and see how much wine we can fit in our bulging rucksacks!

Adios de America del Sur. ¡Hasta America del Centro!
