Had a lie in which lasted until 9am! We are no good at lie ins anymore.

After a nice breakfast in the restaurant where we met some Swiss Germans who we swopped our Peru book for an Ecuador one! We then looked around the lovely gardens with hammocks, pool, etc and were glad we stayed here. Walked into town just to check the competition wasnt better or cheaper and it wasnt!

Town very small basically a town square with a new church and some shops and restaurants and houses and then lots of countryside and fields in the lovely valley. This place is called the valley of longevity as apparently people live here for donkeys years.

After a walk around town and brief time on tínternet we had a lovely fruit salad and yogurt and granola for lunch (trying to make up for yesterdays crap) 1-Decided against investing in donkeys - too risky

. Back to the hotel for a chill by the pool and swim and jacuzzi for a bit. This place smells lovely of fresh flowers and pine trees is very refreshing!

I then went for a run (my first proper one on the trip but I feel so unfit and am sick of people saying that it looks like Dave has stopped eating!) and looked at some posh restaurant options for dinner - Madre Tierra or Hosteria Vilcabamba. They must have wondered why an out of breath very red looking brit wanted to eat looking so awful!

Later on went for dinner in the main square and had mexican and chinese and hoummous. Was v nice apart from political speech going on in main square with assembled crowd. Lots of shouting and music for a change. Elections are imminent and posters are everywhere. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6046934.stm

Today chilled out again and realised that we don´t do this very often at all. We always tend to keep moving on, because we like it, but are pretty bad at sitting still unless its to do the internet or we have cable tv! Think we need a break for a bit though as travelling does get very tiring. We contemplate leaving today but rightly decide not to.

We sit by the pool for a bit and although its not v sunny Dave gets sunburnt. We then go for a walk out of town to admire the view looking down and see some of the countryside. Dave then decides that hed like to go to the vegetarian restaurant for lunch. Yes, the vegetarian restaurant. For anyone that knows Dave well they will realise that this is a minor miracle 2-Chilling by the pool

. When I first met him he would only eat vegetables if they were battered and deep fried and this was only in the case of potatoes and courgettes so vegetables in the very limited sense of the word.

He actually seemed to enjoy the very good value lunch of lentil soup, rice with veg, courgettes (non deep fried), salad and mango plus fresh fruit juice.
I had another fruit salad in my constant quest to be healthy which I tend to forget about.

We then had a siesta and I went for a swim after we had purchased more wine and crisps (my memory had failed me). Then had a nice pepper steak (yes Dave was back to normal) for dinner followed by tiramisu up the road before more wine and bed.
