Arriving in Chachapoyas

Arrived in the dark at about 5am and checked into the Hostal Orchidaes on Calle Ayachucho which is good and 35 Soles inc breakfast for a huge room! Had a sleep before wandering around this small town which is very white with dark wooden balconies and window frames. Has been nice to wander the market, streets and book our next couple of days trips. There is so much to see around here and not enough time!
We plan to spend a couple more days here doing trips before we head north to Ecuador via the circuitous route! Had a fantastic dinner at a recommended restaurant called Tushpa near the Plaza De Armas great meat and pisco sours. Sure we will return!
One final thing for now, we are very pleased to notice that our blog is in the top 20 of travelpods blogs at the mo which is great. However, we wondered how many of the people that look at this are actually friends and family rather than fellow travellers (not that we mind obviously!). Therefore Dave wanted us to set up a competition to see who would be the first people to answer the following question to either of our email addresses. Prize to be confirmed! The difficult question is: What is the capital of France? Apologies that its not multiple choice like on tv programmes but those are just embarassing. Au revoir for now!
