Where I stayed

Friday we spent the afternoon wandering the city which has some lovely old churches and plazas. Stills very European which is a bit odd really! Bolivia on the whole does feel a bit more different from other countries with people wearing local dress e.g. bowler hats etc.

Also went wandering around the witches market where you can buy anything from horrid llama foetuses to wax figures for good luck. The black market was pretty good to with a lot of fake cheap stuff but we are running out of space in our rucksacks although we have just bought some mini sleeping bags to replace our big ones so maybe I can still go shopping!!

Today we are recovering a bit from last night and went looking for a cheap hotel brunch to treat ourselves (again!!). We found a good lunch one at the Plaza Hotel here where we pretty much pigged out on salads, roast chicken and deserts for about 4 quid each! Bargain.

Are now planning on leaving here tomorrow as apparently the blockade of Copacabana is semi over so should be able to get through in a minibus - fingers crossed!
